Indue to rising rent in downtown Austin, theater owners took steps to hand the theater over to a non-profit group called the "Heroes of the Alamo" foundation, operating the theater as a cultural arts center.
Woodbridge, VA Was very friendly kind of cinema! But it was an amazing experience with their dining services! Felt so nice Awesome Flashback!! Fast forward a couple dozen years and I'm ordering a French Press coffee while debating between a gourmet hamburger with fries and a meat lovers pizza while seated in an electric leather reclining chair.
They didn't have that 25 years ago. Many movie theaters have these kind of leather recliners now, so the seats alone are not the draw. Actually they are not as wide as seats in other theaters in the DC Metro area, but they are still comfortable.
It's not some small Tupperware bowl like your Aunt Bernice used to bring you, this is a large stainless steel bowl designed for sharing. The menus are under your seat table. These are kind of like the desks we had in school that you sit in and slide under.
There is a light under the desk so you can read the menu on the low light, but once the movie starts it is very distracting. I swear he was whispering on purpose. Old school movie trailers to classic flicks I saw years ago.
We're talking about everything from early Clint Eastwood movies to really bad B-movie marionette films from the 70s.
Extremely unexpected, fun and entertaining. On the way through the lobby there is a poster that has all the Signature Screenings for the month. Talk about a great idea! See the pic I attached Tonight's movie was the all time classic "The Princess Bride" and they were giving out all kinds of prizes and themed giveaways.
Can't wait to check one of those out. They have a ghost ship themed bar attached to the theater drafthouse that is good chill at before or after the movie. They have an app that lets you choose your seat, shows specials and has the menu of you're planning that far ahead.
I'll be back to this one again soon. LEGO Batman was the best!!! I was very hesitant to try this new movie theater due to some reviews but I decided to give it a try and make my own opinion about it Well, I was not disappointed!!
I bought the tickets through Fandango, showed up and provided my confirmation number and I was given my tickets. You go directly into the theater number, find your seat, take a seat and that's where you order.
The menu is underneath the "table". They came and asked us what we wanted to drink and if we wanted popcorn right away. You write down what you'd like on the piece of paper that's on the table, put it up and then they come and take it.
They bring you the food once the movie starts, and once you're done eating they'll bring the popcorn. We didn't order any alcoholic drinks so I can't comment on that. The popcorn was free by the way!!! The only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because the tables are not adjustable.
They stay in one spot and so if I leaned all the way down on my chair comfortably I was so far out from the table and couldn't reach the food so I had to bring the food to me and not on the table. I will definitely be going again though. The service was great and the food was very yummy!!!Alamo Drafthouse The best film, food and drink all in one seat.
